I bought some pear-vanilla vinegar recently at a little shop in Mystic CT that makes their own gourmet vinegars. I took a recipe that I had for a citrus vinaigrette and altered it to be a pear-vanilla version. I am thinking of making a salad tomorrow to try it on……field greens, sliced thin gala apples, cheddar cheese. I’ll let you know how it tastes! The dressing came out great!
2 tablespoons pear-vanilla vinegar
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
6 tablespoons Pear nectar
combine all ingredients in a cruet with a lid, then shake until combined.
