I had a lot of fresh cranberries left from another recipe so I decided to make my own cranberry sauce. I thought it would be good with some fresh orange flavor added in..and it was!
4 cups fresh cranberries
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
zest and juice from 2 oranges
1. combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
2. Simmer on medium heat, stirring frequently. It does not take long to burn or boil over, so watch carefully.
3. Simmer until berries start to pop. Keep simmering and using the back of a wooden spoon smash berries.
4. Simmer until the sauce is thick and bubbly, then refrigerate until ready to use.
